No April fools here. The old boys joined the young guy. Bruce and Vernon Starr set off with Seth around 10:30 after Seth finished off his breakfast sandwich that I brought him. He was very appreciative. I had fun handing out fruit to other hikers passing through the gap. Seth restocked his pack a little, changed his books and said goodbye to Rylee. She heard her grandma was coming by and needed a little break. She was happy to be in the car and went right to sleep.
Bruce and Vernon finished their packing, splitting up food, rearranging and Bruce working on his trekking poles. Finally ready to hit the trail. They had a nice steady climb the first part of their walk. They made it about 9 miles to their campsite at Bly Gap and it looks like they had lots of company. You can see additional tents in the background.
