Today was a long hard hike. The guys had planned to get to a certain shelter but they reached it too early. They were there before 3:00 and no one was there. So what now. The next shelter was really far away. Or could keep going and get off the trail at Franklin, NC crossing and have a night in town. Yeah you guessed it. They hiked over 19 miles to get to a little time off. But the weather was beautiful and a great day to put in the extra miles. They got off the trail and hitched hiked, well kinda. The third car by was a section hiker, Glenn from Perry GA who had parked his car and was heading into town. So off to the Microtel they went. But Bruce felt like he was at the Hyatt regency because there was a hot shower and a warm bed. After arriving, showering and changing to 'clean cloths', Seth treated his day to dinner at Fatz. They both 'worked' on their tired blistered feet, got a good night sleep and ready for the long walk the next day.
